About

Goals of the BRAIN 3D Microscopy Standards Project

Our goal is to provide the neuroscience research community with a set of standards for 3D microscopy of intact brains. The proposed standards can help facilitate:
  •        Consistency of data collection and reporting
  •        Evaluation, validation, and interpretation of microscopy experiments
  •        Development of data repositories and computational tools
  •        Leveraging multiple datasets to gain novel insights into brain biology

Proposal Specific Aims

  • Specific Aim 1: Establish project operating parameters and assemble a WG of 3D brain microscopy experts.
  • Specific Aim 2: Develop preliminary standards using a consensus process that relies on input from the research community.
  • Specific Aim 3: Raise awareness and promote uptake of 3D brain microscopy standards.
